Height-Boosting Footwear❣️
Plus, you can expect more of this in future issues 🗞️
Hi Shortie,
How’s the holiday season treating you? Between holiday parties and editing, I’ve been keeping busy!
I have to admit, opening up in last week’s email made me a little uneasy, but the responses I received reassured me it was the right thing to do. Isn’t it wild how vulnerability can actually make us stronger?
I’ve always loved the concept of building in public, but doing it on Instagram never quite felt right. Based on the thoughtful replies I got last week, I think this newsletter is the perfect space for me to be more transparent about the challenges of navigating business as a creative. Aesthetics are my forte, but everything else—tech, marketing, selling, and social media—has been a steep learning curve.
With that in mind, my goal this week is to dive back into the brand directory project. I’ll share more about it in next week’s issue—stay tuned!
Sincerely short,
Lwany

P.S. I’m announcing a new series on IG today❣️
Fashion is part of the daily air and it changes all the time, with all the events. You can even see the approaching of a revolution in clothes. You can see and feel everything in clothes.
SHORT QUESTION
Q: The shoe struggle for Shorties is real!
You want to be cute, stylish, and comfortable but, ideally, have a little height. Finding shoes has always been a pain point.
– Divya
A: You’re not alone, Divya—finding comfortable, height-boosting footwear is a shared struggle for many Shorties. I get it.
The right pair of shoes can truly make an outfit, and nothing beats the magic of feeling both stylish and comfortable.
In my experience, the sweet spot between comfort and style often comes down to specific characteristics:
Soft leather: Unlike patent leather, it molds to your feet and breaks in beautifully over time.
Thick soles: Not quite platforms, but sneakers or boots with 2-3 inch soles offer a subtle lift without sacrificing comfort.
Block heels: This is an obvious pick but worth highlighting. Just keep in mind that pointed-toe styles, while sleek, can become uncomfortable after extended wear.
Looking at my closet, here are the tried-and-true shoes I keep reaching for time and time again:
M.Gemi – $248
This Zoe Kravitz-approved pair features a subtle 0.78” / 20 mm lift that’s perfect for all-day wear.
Aeyde – €545
I own the first iteration of this design (which I secretly prefer—sorry!), but they’re beautiful either way. I shared a roundup in this previous issue if you're looking for more affordable alternatives.
Labucq – $490
These penny loafers are my go-to for elevating skirt and dress looks—literally and figuratively!
Marc Fisher LTD – $189 → $141.75
During my recent closet edit, I realized I was missing a slick, pointed-toe boot with a lower, thick heel that would effortlessly pair with pants. This pair checks all the boxes.
Thursday Boot Company – $168
I hadn’t given Chelsea boots much thought until I saw a version with a higher-shaft and chunky outsole. The platform-like sole adds height without looking too much like a platform—a win-win.
I hope this list helps you step up (pun intended!) your footwear game. Let me know if you give any of these a try!
