The Petite Perfect Jeans❣️
Forget all the other styles, these are your best bet! 🗞️
Dear Shortie,
“Filters”—as in filtering and sorting—are top of mind for me lately. Probably because I’ve been laser-focused on combing through the inventory of every single retailer included in the petite brand directory. So far? I’ve sorted through more than 69,000 styles!
Don’t worry, I’ve been flagging standout pieces along the way—all in the name of expanding into shopping content, and naming the best petite brands of Spring Summer 2025.
But back to filters. I don’t think any of us like feeling limited, but I’ve always believed that boundaries spark the most creative outcomes.
When it comes to developing personal style, I’ve found that creating your own “filters”—aka self-imposed boundaries—has helped me evolve my wardrobe more than anything else. What’s off the table for me right now? Anything form-fitting up top, cutouts, and ruffles.
These filters aren’t fixed—they shift over time. A recent change? I’m steering clear of cropped pants. There’s just something about that length that reads as outdated to me.
And while I’ve never met a puffy sleeve I liked on myself, I recently spotted a dress styled off the shoulder with puffed sleeves and I haven’t stopped thinking about it:

All that to say: reframing your limitations as boundaries can give your style sharper focus and a more precise perspective.
Sincerely short,
Lwany

P.S. I will be launching the brand directory in about a month❣️
In difficult times, fashion is always outrageous.
SHORT QUESTION
CONTINUED
Q: … Which [denim] styles do you think are the most favorable at the moment?
— Andrea
A: This is the third and final part of Andrea’s question from a few weeks ago. We’ve covered the key to pulling off low-rise jeans, explored barrel and bootcut styles, and now I’m making a case for the silhouette I’ve found to be most flattering on my short stature: palazzo jeans.
Maybe I just haven’t found the right wide-leg jeans for Shorties, but to be real, I’ve never felt my best in either pair I own—no matter how I’ve styled them. They don’t do me any favors. It’s hard to explain, but I always end up feeling... stubby?!
I would’ve never guessed that the solution would be an even wider leg—but I have these Ganni palazzo jeans I scored at Crossroads to thank for the revelation:

I love how they’re fitted through the hip and hug my bum snugly. The leg shape fits me in the same way wide-leg jeans fit on models—loose in a super flattering way!
Unlike standard wide-leg jeans, which can feel wide all the way through (read: shapeless), palazzos typically have more structure at the top and then flare out lower on the leg. That contrast gives your shape a moment before the volume kicks in, which makes all the difference when you’re working with a shorter frame.
While I did have to get mine hemmed, I found a few petite-friendly palazzos for your consideration:
