Wide Leg Pants❣️

Can Shorties pull them off? 🗞️

Hi Shortie,

How’re you doing? I trust you’re making the most of fall fashion! I haven’t, but with temps dropping, it's time to pull my cozy weather pieces out of storage—ASAP.

After a near brush with burnout last week, I’m easing back into the groove. As for what’s next, here’s a sneak peek: This week and next, I’ll be sharing some fun Shortie Street Style™ content.

Following that, I’ll be dropping a try-on/review video on capris as a follow-up to my recent IG highlight. It’s part of a new series called Petite Perfect [Apparel]™, where I hunt down the best pieces for short statures. Naturally, the first feature will be Petite Perfect Capris™.

Starting in November, I hope to mix content from each segment throughout the week to keep things fresh and exciting for you!

Sincerely short,

Lwany

SHORT QUESTION

Q: What do you think of wide-leg, high-waisted pants for someone 5’2”?

I really like the trend, but I feel like my legs are too short to pull it off.

– Nancy

A: I’m totally here for it—I actually really want a pair of wide-leg jeans myself!

While wide-leg pants might not be the most traditionally "flattering" option, if we only wore what was considered the most flattering, we’d all dress the same. And where’s the fun in that? Variety is what makes fashion exciting!

For styling, here’s a simple formula: little top, big pants. Pair your wide legs with something fitted, cropped, or slightly skin-bearing. For outerwear, stick to hip-length or shorter jackets; for shoes, any flat footwear is perfect.

Now, when shopping for wide-legs, a couple of things matter. First, go for lightweight fabrics—since there’s a lot of material, you want it to move with you effortlessly. If you’ve got a short torso, stick with high-rise styles. For longer torsos, mid- or even low-rise can work beautifully.

Lastly, don’t worry about the length! Extra-long inseams are in, and it seems like everyone wants their pants to be too long these days. It’s safe to say that everyone wants to look short!
