Elongating Sneakers❣️
A lot of Adidas with a sustainable option that's fire! 🗞️
Hi Shortie,
Have you started to experience cooler weather yet? I asked because where I live, it’s been over 110 degrees for the last five days! It’s been a little hard to embrace fall fashion, lol. I will film some early fall looks today – wish me luck!
Over the weekend, we ventured to LA to film the first segment of the Shortie Street Street™ interview series. The 90-degree heat made it difficult because there weren't many people out. Regardless, I’m excited to share what we got – here’s a sneak peak:
Cheyenne – Melissa – Tyler – Nayeli
In other news, New York Fashion Week is in full swing. In the past, I’ve shared a roundup of petite-flattering trends per city, but now, with Runway the Shortway™, I feel that’d be redundant, right? I’m open to hearing your thoughts!
Let’s dive into this issue featuring the most elongating sneakers - enjoy!
Sincerely short,
Lwany

P.S. If you’ve sent a style request, please know I’m addressing them in the order I received them – thanks for your patience❣️
Give a girl the right kind of shoes and she can rule the world.
SHORT QUESTION
Elongating Sneakers
Dear Lwany,
I am in the market for sneakers that elongate my legs! SOS!
x,
Alex
Hi Alex,
I’ve yet to experience a sneaker as versatile and elongating as a low-profile sneaker. I think of them ducking down to show as much of your leg as possible. There’s something about more robust sneakers that visually absorbs longitude.
As far as platforms, I’m not a fan. I think they read pretty juvenile. While they’re height-boosting, they’re too on-the-nose for my taste.
Converse’s low chucks and Van’s slip-ons are ideal—visually. Comfort-wise, I wouldn’t recommend either. For a time, Van’s made some of its classics with its signature ComfyCush sole, but unfortunately, they seem to have been discontinued.
I’m obsessed with my Adidas Sambas, but damn, the colorway I have is going for a pretty penny now:
Adidas Samba OG: Aluminium Gum
$125 – $325
I hesitate to recommend them because the rumors are somewhat accurate. While they’re comfortable to wear for an outing, they’re not traveling walking all-day shoes. My feet definitely hurt after walking around all day in Las Vegas.
Word on the street is that Adidas Gazelles are more comfortable than Sambas. I love the variety of colorways. I’ve been eyeing these red ones for a hot minute now:
Adidas Gazelle: Better Scarlet / Cloud White / Gum
Men’s Sizing
$120
If you’re looking for a neutral color, these special editions are pretty rad and on sale:
Adidas Gazelle: SPZL Twill Sneakers
$127 $95
In my research, I came across Adidas Handball Spezial. The sole looks thicker than the Sambas, similar to the Gazelles, so I assume they’re just as comfortable.
They're worth considering if you’re up for suede’s special care. In typical fashion, my favorite colorway isn’t available on Adidas’ website:
Adidas OG Handball: SPZL Wonder White / Sand Strata
$110
Now, if I were in your place, and again, down to deal with suede’s delicate tendencies, I’d give these ones a try:
