Belts❣️
Plus, how spirituality can help you refine your personal style! 🗞️
Hi Shortie,
How’re you? I’m curious—are you at all spiritual?
When I lost my soul dog, Kansas, a few years ago, I found myself diving deep into all things woo-woo. I started therapy after his cancer diagnosis because, honestly, I couldn’t imagine life without him.

R.I.P. Kansas
My therapist encouraged me to tap into spirituality, recommending books like The Surrender Experiment and Journey of Souls. Exploring this side of things helped me cope, but beyond that, it became a catalyst for growth in every area of my life.
Now, I see spirituality in everything – including fashion! So, it’s no surprise that many personal-style authors incorporate woo-woo elements like meditation and visualization into their books.
Regardless of where you stand on the spiritual spectrum, connecting with yourself is key to developing your personal style. Authenticity starts with knowing who you are and what you want!
Sincerely short,
Lwany

P.S. Last weekend’s closet sale delayed the start of my week – thanks for your patience on this week’s issue❣️
I have never known a really chich woman whose appearance was not, in large part, an outwards reflection of her inner self.
SHORT QUESTION
Q: Do you have any belt recommendations?
Trying to find one small enough for high-waisted jeans is so hard!
– Debbie
A: I gotta be honest—I don’t have much of a waist, so I can’t fully relate, but I can definitely help!
Have you tried vintage belts? Every time I stumble upon any cool vintage belts, they tend to be too small for me—which means they might be just right for you! eBay, Etsy, and Vestiaire Collective are great places to hunt for them. And while leather belts hold up well over time, don’t shy away from alternative materials like fabric or metal.
If you find a belt you love but even the smallest hole is still too big, there’s an easy fix. Shortie Jean Wang from Extra Petite once recommended a super handy tool for adding extra holes to belts.

She also has a couple of belts in her clothing line, Edited Collection, that might be worth checking out.

Mini Reversible Horsebit Belt

And if adding a hole or two leaves you with a long belt tail—don’t stress it! I actually love the look of an extra-long belt looped on itself. It adds a cool, effortless vibe, and plenty of belts are designed that way on purpose!

Styling idea for an extra-long belt!
