How's your summer going? I've got good news and not-so-good news.

Back-to-School Style

Dear Lwany,

Short high school art teacher here; what's my back-to-school look?

For context, there's no A/C, so it gets super hot, and it's a creative office environment. I also prefer to wear sneakers.

I suggest you fully embrace the preppy vibe of the moment but in a country club way. Swap cardigans and sweaters for button-up shirts; you can even wear them around the shoulders. What loafers are to preppy style, low-profile sneakers, and boat shoes are to the country club vibe.

I'm uncertain about the heights of the women pictured, except for Ashley Olsen, who is wearing an all-white ensemble in the center photo and is 5’1” / 156 cm.

These are some outfit ideas assuming modesty and staying cool are a priority:

Monochrome Look: Wear a white tank, off-white denim, matching sandals or sneakers and, for extra coverage, an oversized button-up shirt worn as a jacket.
